About Me

Hello

About Me

My name is Magda Kilijanek, and I am an architecture graduate who developed her professional and academic experience in the United Kingdom. From the very beginning, my path has been focused on acquiring versatile competencies. Today, with full commitment and professionalism, I am entering the next stage of my career – growing and working towards obtaining my architectural license in Poland. I am ready for new challenges, highly adaptable to dynamic work environments, and fully accountable for every task entrusted to me.

The Synergy of Architecture and Engineering

What sets me apart in the market is a unique combination of aesthetic vision and solid engineering knowledge. Alongside my architectural studies, I completed a course in Engineering Mechanics at a British college. Thanks to this, structural, technical, and material considerations are not just a theoretical afterthought for me, but an integral part of my creative process.

My academic portfolio primarily focuses on projects located in prestigious and rigorous UNESCO World Heritage zones – namely in London, Edinburgh, and Stirling. Working within such a demanding context taught me a profound respect for history, as well as how to design contemporary forms that complement, rather than dominate, the historic urban fabric.

Project Experience and Market Competencies

Every project I completed was a lesson in specific, practical skills essential for an architectural practice:

  • Adaptive Reuse and Technology (Stirling): During a challenging project in Stirling, I tackled the transformation of an existing office building, converting it into a modern residential space. This solidified my technical knowledge regarding structural redevelopments, conversions, and building systems.
  • Architecture and Economics (Master's Thesis): My graduation project, based on the self-developed concept "Live Work Grow", was a deep study of how architecture responds to socioeconomic factors, and how it can actively support local entrepreneurship and community well-being.
  • Discipline and Time Management: Studying in an international environment instilled great meticulousness in me. The design process relied on continuous analysis and multi-stage critiques. This required flawless time management at every stage to ensure that each project – after incorporating all feedback – was delivered in its final, perfected form strictly on schedule.

Beyond Boundaries: 3D Modeling and Project Management

My passion for design and technology extends far beyond traditional boundaries. For years, I have been developing my skills as a graphic designer and digital environment developer within computer games (specifically Role-Play gaming projects that emulate real life), creating custom buildings, master plans, and interior designs as a hobby.

This unique endeavor has resulted not only in advanced proficiency in 3D environments, but above all, in an incredible training ground for Project Management. As a coordinator and creator, I successfully managed an engaged online community of nearly 15,000 users. This experience provided me with leadership, organizational, and rapid problem-solving skills under pressure that are truly unique for an intern.

I am entering the architectural market with an open mind, a rich technical background, and full readiness to bring a fresh perspective and reliable, hard work to every project.
